Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 10.30am – 7.00pm

Are you an experienced warehouse professional with strong leadership skills? We are recruiting for a well-established business supplies distributor who is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor. Joining a busy operation in Poole, you will be taking responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of warehouse activities and the team on shift. This is a hands-on role where you will lead from the front, ensuring warehouse operations are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with agreed processes, quality standards and operational targets.

As Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating the team, allocating daily tasks and ensuring work continues to flow efficiently throughout the shift. You will act as a key point of contact for operational queries, supporting your team and addressing issues before they impact productivity, accuracy or customer service. You will also play an important role in maintaining health and safety standards, monitoring KPIs and supporting continuous improvement across the warehouse.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the warehouse team
  • Allocate tasks, set priorities and ensure resources are used effectively
  • Monitor productivity, accuracy and adherence to processes
  • Provide visible, hands-on leadership on the warehouse floor
  • Coach and support warehouse operatives, ensuring correct ways of working
  • Manage attendance, timekeeping and related information
  • Conduct return-to-work meetings and support absence management
  • Complete routine health & safety, housekeeping and compliance checks
  • Identify hazards and ensure appropriate action is taken
  • Support incident reporting and follow-up
  • Use WMS and other systems to generate figures and monitor KPIs
  • Support and train team members in systems and processes, including booking-in, put-away, voice picking etc
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency and warehouse layout
  • Communicate daily priorities, changes and updates clearly
  • Support the implementation of new processes and improvements

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous warehouse supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
  • Have good knowledge of warehouse operations and processes
  • Possess strong communication and people-management skills
  • Have experience monitoring KPIs and operational performance
  • Exhibit good IT skills and confidence using warehouse management systems
  • Have a strong understanding of health & safety within a warehouse environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to coach, motivate and support a team
  • Have a proactive approach to resolving operational issues
  • Show excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Exhibit a hands-on approach and willingness to lead by example
