RMS is excited to partner with a leading European Transport & Logistics organisation to recruit a Transport Planner. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated professional with a strong background in transport planning and logistics to become part of a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and review driver routes to optimise efficiency
- Liaise with drivers and colleagues to ensure timely deliveries
- Act as the key communication link between customers and drivers
- Supervise and manage driver workloads
- Ensure compliance with Working Time Directive (WTD) and driving hours regulations
- Proactively plan vehicle availability for customer needs
- Monitor customer requests, allocate jobs, and issue instructions
- Stay up to date with transport-related issues and adapt to changes daily
- Troubleshoot critical transport-related challenges as they arise
About You:
- Hold a valid driving licence with fewer than six penalty points (no DR10 offences)
- Ideally hold a Transport Manager CPC qualification or be willing to undertake CPC training
- Solid understanding of the UK & EU Road Haulage Industry with excellent geographical knowledge.
- Previous experience in transport planning or traffic operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong data accuracy and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of transport regulations, including EU drivers\’ hours and WTD.
