RMS Recruitment are looking for a highly skilled Technical Operations Manager to lead our clients Mechanical Bodyshop Department.

Location: Killingholme

Salary: Up to 60,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

About the role: In this key leadership role, you will take responsibility for day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring high levels of quality, safety, productivity and efficiency. You will lead a team of mechanics and technicians, driving performance, adopting modern techniques and maintaining the highest technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide expert technical support, guidance and direction to workshop teams. Drive adoption of modern repair, bodywork and diagnostic techniques. Collaborate cross-functionally to bring new technologies into operational practice.
  • Workshop Operations: Manage daily mechanical bodyshop workflow. Schedule and plan work effectively to optimise capacity. Ensure all repairs and servicing meet time, cost and quality expectations.
  • People Team Development: Lead and develop the mechanical bodyshop teams. Conduct performance reviews and build training plans. Maintain a strong, positive and collaborative workshop culture.
  • Quality, Compliance Safety: Implement and uphold strict quality control procedures. Ensure compliance with relevant H S legislation and standards. Conduct audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Resource Inventory Management: Manage workshop tools, materials, consumables equipment. Liaise with suppliers to maintain required stock levels. Support cost control and departmental budget management.

About You:

  • Strong technical background within the automotive / mechanical repair sector.
  • Previous workshop leadership and technician management experience.
  • City Guilds / NVQ or equivalent in Automotive Mechanics / Light Vehicle / Repairs.
  • Confident with H S compliance and safe workshop operating standards.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, Outlook).
