RMS Recruitment are looking for a highly skilled Technical Operations Manager to lead our clients Mechanical Bodyshop Department.
Location: Killingholme
Salary: Up to 60,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
About the role: In this key leadership role, you will take responsibility for day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring high levels of quality, safety, productivity and efficiency. You will lead a team of mechanics and technicians, driving performance, adopting modern techniques and maintaining the highest technical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Provide expert technical support, guidance and direction to workshop teams. Drive adoption of modern repair, bodywork and diagnostic techniques. Collaborate cross-functionally to bring new technologies into operational practice.
- Workshop Operations: Manage daily mechanical bodyshop workflow. Schedule and plan work effectively to optimise capacity. Ensure all repairs and servicing meet time, cost and quality expectations.
- People Team Development: Lead and develop the mechanical bodyshop teams. Conduct performance reviews and build training plans. Maintain a strong, positive and collaborative workshop culture.
- Quality, Compliance Safety: Implement and uphold strict quality control procedures. Ensure compliance with relevant H S legislation and standards. Conduct audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Resource Inventory Management: Manage workshop tools, materials, consumables equipment. Liaise with suppliers to maintain required stock levels. Support cost control and departmental budget management.
About You:
- Strong technical background within the automotive / mechanical repair sector.
- Previous workshop leadership and technician management experience.
- City Guilds / NVQ or equivalent in Automotive Mechanics / Light Vehicle / Repairs.
- Confident with H S compliance and safe workshop operating standards.
- Competent in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, Outlook).
