Role Summary: As a Product Manager within our Products Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of advanced maritime technology. You will ensure the right products enter the market at the right time, with the right capabilities, by combining technical understanding, operational insight, and strategic product thinking. Working closely with engineering, business development, and subject matter experts, you will lead the development of product requirements, capability alignment, and roadmap planning to support Subsea Craft’s mission to push the boundaries of asymmetric maritime operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Own and manage product requirements, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and grounded in validated technical and operational understanding.
  • Identify, prioritise, and align product capabilities by working closely with senior engineers and subject matter experts.
  • Develop and maintain a balanced product roadmap that reflects user needs, market insight, technical feasibility, and business priorities.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear narratives, specifications, and CONOPs for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Act as the key link across teams, facilitating workshops and technical discussions, ensuring alignment between engineering and business development, and supporting customer engagement with credible technical input.

Qualifications and experience – Required:

  • 3+ years technical experience in defence, aerospace, or other high‑assurance engineering domains.
  • STEM degree or equivalent technical background.
  • Able to engage confidently with engineers on systems, data, and architecture.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical detail into clear product direction and customer‑focused requirements.
  • Experience acting as the bridge between engineering and business development, ensuring feasibility, clarity, and aligned priorities.
  • Skilled in building and managing product roadmaps that reflect customer needs, commercial value, and engineering constraints.
  • Strong facilitator, able to lead technical discussions, workshops, and cross‑functional planning sessions.
  • Adaptable, self‑driven, and comfortable working in fast‑moving technical environments.
  • Willing to travel internationally at short notice.
  • Able to obtain and maintain UK security clearance (SC minimum).

Highly desirable:

  • Comfortable working in unclear situations and with complex defence organisations.
  • Well‑connected in defence communities, especially in SOF, scientific or intelligence networks.
  • Former defence role or SOF background.
