Responsibilities
- Mechanical engineering project oversight for our USV programs (MARS)
- Management of the specific mechanical engineering project team
- Create and develop work breakdown schedules to manage the engineering team to project specific goals and deadlines
- Report progress and identify strengths and weaknesses in delivery
- Support the Head of Mechanical to provide insight to business strategic vision
- Mentor and support the development of Junior Mechanical Engineers
- Key reviewer; peer to peer and gate reviews
- Compliant with all aspects of company legislative compliance, HSE and HR
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 10 years industry experience
- Minimum 3 years leading a team
- Ability to create and review components, sub‑assemblies and General Arrangements in 3D CAD.
- Ability to create and review 2D drawings in conjunction with BS8888
- Proven experience of working in a fast paced, challenging engineering sector
- Proven experience of delivering complex projects
- Proven experience of leading a cohesive and effective team
- Proven experience of empowering engineers and identifying growth opportunities
- Detailed understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes
- Proven understanding of conflicting systems and critical thinking
- Experience with autonomous craft/systems
- Experience with small boats and surface craft
