Role Overview:
The Junior Contracts Officer will support the Legal team in delivering efficient and high-quality legal services across the business, with a focus on contract management, compliance, and stakeholder support. Reporting to the Commercial Contracts Lead or Head of Legal as required, you will demonstrate a professional and responsive approach to requests from colleagues with accurate and timely work delivered to the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the review and drafting of a range of commercial agreements (e.g., supplier contracts, terms and conditions, service agreements, non-disclosure agreements).
- Conducting basic legal research and summarising findings for the Legal team.
- Instructing overseas legal counsel.
- Assisting with due diligence processes and document review exercises.
- Supporting compliance activities, including data protection and internal policy adherence.
- Managing document templates and ensuring version control.
- Maintaining contracts database.
- Supporting the onboarding and monitoring of third-party suppliers from a legal perspective.
- Assisting with dispute resolution preparation (e.g. gathering documents, timelines, evidence packs).
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree level education (Law or Business Studies/Administration or similar).
- 1-2 years’ previous administrative or legal work experience (including internships or placements) is desirable.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel is essential.
- Previous experience of Atlassian tools (e.g. Jira & Confluence) is desirable.
