Resonates is a PR and marketing agency that supports a wide range of tech, energy, and clean tech companies – from unified communication vendors to renewable energy businesses and clean tech innovators.

We’re looking for someone who can write PR and marketing content for a range of media including feature articles, press releases, blogs, social media posts, web copy, case studies, award entries, video scripts, and more, to meet our clients’ high standards.

Role Description

This is a flexible, hybrid role (part-time/full-time) enabling working remotely as well as at our office located in Newbury, just a few minutes’ walk from the railway station.

The right person will need to do their research and get to grips with our clients’ tech solutions. You don’t need a degree in rocket science, but you do need to be able to take complex concepts and technologies and turn them into coherent stories, combining our clients’ messages to ensure that readers understand the benefits without having to think or work too hard.

Responsibilities

The right candidate for this role will be able to:

  1. Research complex, technical topics to prepare for client interviews and inform their writing
  2. Interview clients to gather appropriate information
  3. Write clear, concise, cohesive, and compelling copy and content
  4. Make sense of complex technical solutions and explain them in plain English
  5. Work across a range of clients, markets, and technologies
  6. Create and interpret client briefs
  7. Understand best practice for different types of copy from thought leadership to sales enablement
  8. Adapt tone of voice to match each client
  9. Work on multiple projects at the same time
  10. Maintain accuracy while meeting tight deadlines
  11. Use AI LLM tools appropriately to boost productivity
  12. Proofread others’ work for accuracy and compliance with the brief
  13. Brainstorm and develop new content ideas as part of the agency team

Qualifications

  • Excellent written English, including impeccable spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Enthusiasm and a can-do attitude – willingness to adapt to different tasks and projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with account managers and clients
  • Appreciation of the role of messaging in marketing comms
  • Familiar with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Experience of using AI appropriately to develop copy
  • Able to prioritise tasks and workload effectively, including time tracking
  • You must be able to work in the UK and travel to our offices in Newbury, Berkshire

Preferred

  • Experience working as a freelance copywriter and/or journalist with a technical/environmental brief and an understanding of marketing
  • Strong portfolio of written content for PR and marketing
  • Enthusiasm for new technology and innovation, especially around cleantech, sustainability, and renewables
  • Track record of writing about technology, energy, and cleantech
  • Experience of writing editorial, including by-lined thought leadership content, for public relations
  • Experience of using tools for on-page SEO
  • Understanding of how to develop client messaging
