JOB SUMMARY
To manage the repair and maintenance of the vehicles, fixtures and equipment in the estate owned or rented by the business. To carry out on-site repairs and maintenance work on vehicles owned by various customers.
DESCRIPTION
Our client operates from several facilities in Cambridgeshire, Thrapston, Tamworth and Crewe, primarily in the agricultural and haulage industries. The Technician will work closely with the Workshop Manager and other team members to ensure that all jobs are completed to a high level in good time.
MAJOR TASKS
- On-site service and repairs to customer assets
- To assist in the routine vehicle/trailer maintenance to meet VOSA standards
- Diagnosing and rectifying all types of vehicle faults, and preparation of vehicles/trailers for MOT inspections
- To carry out 6 weekly PMI’s
- To attend breakdowns on company vehicles/trailers and complete temporary/permanent repairs as required
- To prepare and decommission vehicles/trailers, fitting, removing a range of ancillary equipment, accessories and livery
- Ensure upkeep of all plant, tools, property and services required to fulfill the tasks
- Adhere to current health and safety legislation at all times, attend training and refresher courses when required

- Liaison with the office with regards to updating the systems and required maintenance costs/materials
- Ensure all documented repairs are submitted to the system (Tablet) and closed daily
- Ensure all PPE is worn prior to commencing work
- Ensure the company service van is kept in an acceptable clean and safe working condition and any defects reported
- Maintain a high standard of communication with the customers and client
- Ensure the company service van is only used for business tasks at any time
- Ensure all company equipment is maintained and kept clean.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a full UK driving license.
- Must have relevant work experience within a HGV Technician/ Mechanics role
- Have industry recognised relevant qualifications and/or be time served
- Will be required to participate in appropriate training, including Health & Safety, First Aid, and any other relevant maintenance related upskilling.
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritise busy workload with a thorough, methodical approach.
