Are you an experienced contractor-side Quantity Surveyor looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a growing and ambitious business? Resolution Interiors is seeking a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with a background in SME construction, fit‑out, shopfitting or specialist subcontracting environments. This role would particularly suit someone who enjoys working closely with project delivery teams and taking ownership of commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Please note: this position requires practical contractor‑side Quantity Surveying experience. Candidates whose experience is solely within professional services, consultancy, cost management practice or PQS environments are unlikely to have the project delivery experience required for this role.
Working across a diverse portfolio of construction and interior fit‑out projects, you will take ownership of the commercial management of projects from award through to final account. You'll be responsible for controlling costs, managing valuations and variations, procuring and managing subcontractor packages, producing accurate commercial reporting, and supporting project teams to deliver profitable project outcomes.
This is a hands‑on role where you'll work closely with Project Managers, clients and supply chain partners, helping to drive commercial performance while ensuring contractual obligations are effectively managed. You'll have the autonomy to influence key commercial decisions, the opportunity to develop strong stakeholder relationships, and the chance to play a significant role in the continued growth and success of the business.
Why Join Resolution Interiors?
- Be part of a growing and entrepreneurial SME where your contribution is recognised and valued
- Work on a diverse range of construction, interior fit‑out and shopfitting projects
- Take ownership of projects and play an active role in commercial decision‑making
- Work closely with senior leaders and project teams in a collaborative environment
- Benefit from a varied role with exposure to clients, subcontractors and commercial strategy
- Support for continued professional development and progression
- Opportunity to make a tangible impact on business performance and project success
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and control project costs from project award through to final account
- Prepare and maintain budgets, forecasts, cost reports and commercial updates
- Assess, price, negotiate and manage project variations
- Manage valuations, payment applications, contractual notices and final accounts
- Procure subcontractor packages, analyse tenders and negotiate subcontract agreements
- Review, value and manage subcontractor accounts and payments
- Monitor commercial risks and opportunities and implement appropriate controls
- Support Project Managers and wider delivery teams with commercial decision‑making
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
- Apply sound knowledge of construction contracts, including JCT and NEC principles where relevant
- Ensure compliance with RICS professional standards and company procedures
