This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to project management within a scientific organisation while developing skills in planning and stakeholder management.

You’ll also:

  • Liaise with Team Leaders to maintain up-to-date and accurate project information and timelines.
  • Be responsible for ensuring information is up to date for your portfolio of projects.
  • Be aware of timing and status of invoice milestones; indicate when customer invoices can be raised and raise them in accordance with contracts.
  • Support various tasks outside of the immediate project team e.g. QA audits, Procurement, Logistics.
  • Maintain oversight of the delivery backlog and awareness of all live and upcoming projects within your portfolio.
  • Use resource plans to provide updates to Operations Managers and Business Development on when new work can be scheduled.
  • Work with Team Leaders to review team forecasts and ensure resource allocation is aligned with project budgets and is appropriately scheduled to meet monthly revenue targets.
  • Provide accurate reports on a variety of data including resource demand profile, customer deliverables, revenue forecasts, and KPIs as requested.
  • Support Team Leaders with customer communication – emails, take meeting minutes, and share information on project timelines.
  • Advise on the flexible movement of resources across teams where it will have a positive impact on customer delivery and/or revenue recognition.
  • Understand the risk profile in the backlog, via the Red-Amber-Green (RAG) rating of milestones, and work with Team Leaders to flexibly schedule project work to fill any gaps resulting from project delays, ensuring monthly revenue targets are not negatively impacted.
  • Apply a detailed understanding of future demand to advise operational managers on resource planning.
  • Track customer KPIs, reconcile contracts/budgets, and deal with customer queries related to Project Planner responsibilities (e.g. invoicing or budget questions).

What we’re looking for:

  • You should have a science degree or experience of working in a scientific environment.
  • You might have experience of working in a laboratory, research environment, CRO or regulated environment, although this isn’t essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders across the business and externally.
  • You’ll have a strong attention to detail and be able to work accurately with data and timelines.
  • Enjoy problem solving and finding practical solutions.
