Position Overview

Resillion is seeking an experienced Mastering QC (Quality Control) Operator responsible for performing advanced quality control of audio and picture assets across a variety of media workflows. This role ensures deliverables meet technical specifications, client requirements, and global distribution standards.

The ideal candidate has extensive mastering-level QC experience, strong technical knowledge of file-based workflows, and the ability to identify, document, and communicate complex audio, video, and metadata issues within a fast-paced post-production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mastering-level QC inspections of audio and picture assets to identify, document, and communicate technical issues and inconsistencies.
  • Generate detailed QC reports accurately documenting findings, severity levels, and required corrections.
  • Create, verify, and prepare deliverables while ensuring compliance with client specifications and distribution requirements across multiple territories.
  • Review technical specifications including video format, aspect ratio, audio configuration, color space, HDR requirements, metadata, and delivery standards.
  • Perform QC evaluations across SD, HD, 2K, UHD, 4K, HDR-10, Dolby Vision, and other advanced media formats.
  • Utilize waveform monitors, audio meters, scopes, and industry-standard QC tools to perform detailed technical assessments.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues related to file integrity, playback, encoding, packaging, and media workflows.
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency across multiple versions, platforms, and deliverable requirements.
  • Support testing and validation of new workflows, tools, and technologies to improve quality and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and provide clear communication regarding QC status, findings, and delivery readiness.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Production, and Client Services teams to resolve technical issues and support successful project completion.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience as a Mastering QC Operator within a professional post-production facility, studio, or media environment.
  • Extensive experience performing QC on feature films, episodic content, and digital media deliverables.
  • Advanced knowledge of identifying and troubleshooting video, audio, and film impairments, including root causes and corrective actions.
  • Strong understanding of file-based workflows and formats including IMF, Apple ProRes, DPX, TIFF, and J2K.
  • Proficiency with SD, HD, 2K, UHD, 4K, HDR-10, and Dolby Vision workflows.
  • Advanced experience with DaVinci Resolve, Colorfront Transkoder, and professional QC tools.
  • Ability to interpret HDR analysis reports, including MaxFALL and MaxCLL measurements.
  • Experience with international distribution requirements and territory-specific deliverable standards.
