Role Purpose
Resillion’s Digital Forensics Team operates in a highly regulated, evidence-driven environment, supporting public-sector and law-enforcement clients. The Digital Forensics Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining, developing, and assuring the team’s Quality Management System (QMS) to meet ongoing UKAS ISO 17025 accreditation requirements, and to uphold the highest standards of forensic integrity, evidential robustness, and operational excellence.
The role ensures that all processes, documentation, and working practices comply with ISO 17025, the Forensic Science Regulator (FSR) Codes of Practice, ILAC G19, chain-of-custody principles, and all relevant security obligations. The Quality Manager also plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, supporting internal and external audits, and ensuring the team operates in accordance with best practice and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain, review, and enhance the QMS to ensure ongoing compliance with UKAS ISO 17025 accreditation. Manage document control, including version management and assurance processes for all procedures, SOPs, and quality documentation. Monitor and enforce adherence to ISO 17025, ILAC G19, and the FSR Codes of Practice and Conduct.
- Accreditation & Compliance: Oversee preparation for UKAS assessments, surveillance visits, and all external quality audits. Act as a key liaison with UKAS, regulatory bodies, and external assessors. Ensure that all laboratory processes and technical activities meet evidential and reporting standards suitable for law-enforcement and criminal-justice requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative, regulatory, and accreditation requirements relevant to digital forensics.
- Operational Support: Work closely with the Head of Digital Forensics and Team Leads to embed quality standards and compliance into day-to-day operations. Provide guidance on method validation, competency assessments, proficiency testing, and technical assurance activities. Support case review processes, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and forensic integrity in all outputs. Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related enquiries from internal stakeholders and customers. Identify and drive opportunities for improvements in processes, documentation, and operational efficiency. Coordinate root-cause analysis activities and lead team-wide improvement initiatives. Ensure lessons learned from audits, incidents, and emerging national guidance are effectively incorporated into the QMS.
- Security & Assurance: Uphold strict security, confidentiality, and data-handling controls in accordance with organisational and regulatory requirements. Maintain active SC and NPPV3 clearances and ensure full compliance with protective-security policies. Ensure that all forensic processes meet chain-of-custody standards and maintain evidential continuity at all times.
