Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, forward-looking SOC Manager to lead our Security Operations Centre, managing a team of analysts and engineers responsible for protecting multiple clients across a high-performance Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) environment. This role is a highly proactive, hands-on leadership position for a cyber security expert who thrives in dynamic environments. You will bring deep technical credibility together with a strong commercial mindset, driving operational excellence, outstanding customer experiences, service profitability, and meaningful business growth. As a key leader within our cyber security business, you will manage Strategic Accounts, drive complex service transitions, and actively implement cutting-edge automation and AI technologies to keep our SOC ahead of the threat landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with strategic customer accounts as the senior point of contact for operational and strategic security matters.
  • Strengthen relationships with vendors, partners, and contractors to ensure a cohesive, scalable delivery model.
  • Balance exceptional customer outcomes with operational performance, service profitability, and commercial growth.
  • Support sales and account management teams in high-value presentations, solution design, service reviews, and bid responses.
  • Identify opportunities to expand and enhance security services within existing accounts, driving retention and upsell.
  • Lead the implementation of AI-driven SOC automation and orchestration (e.g., Torq or similar next-gen platforms).
  • Oversee complex service transitions, including insourcing initiatives and moving operations from offshore to in-shore models.
  • Ensure SOC playbooks and client architectures align with global legislation such as NIS2, DORA, and the EU AI Act.
  • Contribute to new SOC and MSSP capabilities, service offerings, and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a high-performing technical team, driving coaching, performance management, and development.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience managing or leading a SOC within an MSSP environment.
  • Strong track record managing security operations for large-scale, high-value Strategic Accounts.
  • Deep, practical familiarity with SIEM technologies, particularly Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Demonstrated success implementing AI-driven SOC solutions and SOAR platforms (e.g., Torq or equivalent).
  • Experience managing complex transition projects (e.g., insourcing, offshore to in-shore).
  • Operational familiarity with CREST, NIS2, DORA, and the EU AI Act.
  • Hands-on experience leading incident response, threat hunting, and investigations.
  • Broad technical knowledge across Windows, Linux, cloud, hybrid environments, firewalls, EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and vulnerability management.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills.
  • Multi-lingual capability highly preferred.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Microsoft SC-200 or SC-100.
  • CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certifications.
  • CREST certifications.
  • ITIL Foundation or service management experience.
  • Experience with Google SecOps or other enterprise-grade SIEM/analytics platforms.
