What You’ll Be Doing
As Assistant General Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the overall performance, compliance and day-to-day operations of a large residential asset.
Location: Leeds
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday with occasional weekend cover as required
Key responsibilities include:
Operations & Asset Performance
- Support the smooth delivery of resident services from move-in through to move-out
- Oversee inspections, void management and maintenance processes
- Manage operational budgets and support delivery of financial targets
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, contractors and stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and resident satisfaction
- Support budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting activities
Leasing, Occupancy & Revenue Growth
- Help drive occupancy and retention through effective leasing strategies
- Work closely with marketing and leasing teams to maximise revenue
- Analyse local market trends and competitor activity
- Develop relationships within the local community to enhance the resident experience and brand presence
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach and develop the Resident Services Team
- Conduct regular performance reviews, one-to-ones and development plans
- Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture
- Support recruitment, onboarding and succession planning initiatives
- Deliver training and encourage continuous learning
Compliance & Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with UK residential regulations and health & safety requirements
- Monitor statutory obligations, audits and compliance deadlines
- Promote a strong safety culture across the community
- Support the management of incidents, reporting requirements and risk mitigation
Resident Experience
- Champion an exceptional resident journey at every touchpoint
- Oversee complaint resolution and service delivery standards
- Organise and support community engagement events
- Analyse resident feedback and implement improvements
- Act as a role model for excellence in customer service
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Minimum 2 years’ management experience within Build to Rent (BTR), PBSA, residential property, hotels or hospitality
- Proven people leadership and team development experience
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Customer-first mindset with a genuine passion for service excellence
