Founded in 2001, Resident Advisor (RA) is one of the world’s longest-running music media brands and a cornerstone of the dance, electronic and DJ ecosystem. The site’s audience of over 6 million monthly users is drawn in by a combination of news, editorial, club listings and ticketing, RA-branded events at venues and festivals worldwide, original films and a weekly mix series that has run for 18 years.
Purpose of the role
The City Manager is an integral part of RA’s Global Content Network. The City Manager’s primary focus is to support the local electronic music scene in Glasgow through local content and editorial. The focus of the role is representing RA in Glasgow and helping to grow our audience via communicating RA’s offerings to local promoters, clubs and artists as well as acting as a link between RA, the GCN and the local electronic music community in Glasgow. The City Manager helps users and readers discover the best events and music Glasgow has to offer.
Key Responsibilities
- Adding local content to RA’s website (events, artists, labels, promoters)
- Communicating frequently and effectively with your manager and other RA staff
- Maintaining the club database: updating it with pics, logos, addresses & links
- Pitching interesting local content (news, features, mixes, etc.) for editorial consideration
- Selecting and writing RA Picks
- Onboarding local promoters, venues and artists to RA Pro
- Assisting the revenue team with developing ticketing and advertising relationships
- Having conversations with promoters, explaining RA’s offering and features
- Pitching local community events and executing them with the help of RA full-time staff
- Assisting with IRL events
This is a freelance role (5 hours a week), preferably spread out across the week. Being based in Glasgow is a requirement for this role. Please upload an English CV and Cover Letter.
