Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced

Memory Care Director to lead our memory care department and support residents living with memory impairment.

This role is responsible for developing meaningful programming and collaborating with families to enhance residents’ lives.

The ideal candidate brings creativity, leadership, and a deep understanding of dementia and memory care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the community’s key resource on cognitive care strategies.
  • Plan, develop, and direct individual and group activities to meet residents’ mental, physical, spiritual, and social needs.
  • Maintain resident assessments, support plans, calendars, and participation records.
  • Collaborate with families and care teams to support residents individually at all stages of memory impairment.
  • Ensure compliance with community policies, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Manage program budget, supplies, and volunteer involvement.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Recreational or Occupational Therapy, or Nursing preferred.
  • LPN, CRTS, or COTA preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience in recreational or occupational therapy, or 3+ years providing direct care.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Sound judgement and a strong ethical foundation in decision-making.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally; may assist with resident transfers.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
