Head of Care childrens Residential in Wollaston

About the role Resicare Alliance is opening a new 32-bed children's residential service for young people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. As Head of Care, you'll be responsible for care quality, compliance, staffing and performance across the site. You'll lead it through registration, opening and its first admissions. Key responsibilities Line manage the Registered Manager and lead the site management team Lead the opening, including Ofsted registration, recruiting a new team and phased admissions with careful matching Embed Positive Behaviour Support, reduce restrictive practice and meet each child's communication needs Keep the service compliant with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards, and ready for Regulation 44/45 visits and Ofsted inspections Act as senior safeguarding lead and investigate incidents, complaints and allegations Work closely with families, Local Authorities, health professionals and Ofsted Manage the site budget, occupancy and staffingEssential requirements Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services, or equivalent At least 3 years' residential childcare experience in the last 5, including 2 at Registered Manager level or equivalent Experience of line managing managers and leading large teams Experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities and/or autism Strong knowledge of legislation and regulation for looked after children Full UK driving licenceDesirable Experience of opening or registering a new service A record of Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes A qualification in learning disabilities, autism or Positive Behaviour Support This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and safer recruitment checks.
