Would you like to join a highly reputable, established and forward-thinking accountancy practice where you can take on a senior role, work closely with the Partner and have genuine responsibility for both a varied client portfolio and the development of the team?
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced
Senior Accounts Manager to join a busy and successful Eastbourne office.
You will work closely alongside the Partner, taking responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients as well as overseeing the workflow and development of the team.
This is a key position within the practice, so you will need to be confident working autonomously and capable of overseeing the office and client portfolio in the Partner's absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with and report directly to the Partner.
- Manage and develop a varied portfolio of clients.
- Review and finalise accounts, tax returns, client correspondence, letters and fees.
- Review correspondence from clients and HMRC, preparing appropriate responses and communicating directly with clients.
- Provide advice and support to clients on a range of queries including tax and accountancy software.
- Assist with ad hoc advisory work including financial forecasts, incorporations and management accounts.
- Oversee the workflow of the team, ensuring deadlines and service standards are maintained.
- Manage and support team members in relation to training, development, attendance and holidays.
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Confidently use accountancy and taxation software including Xero and CCH, alongside Excel and Word.
About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have
- ACA or ACCA qualification.
- A minimum of three years' post-qualification experience within an accountancy practice.
- Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge.
- Proven experience supervising, managing and training staff.
- The confidence and experience to work independently and take responsibility in the Partner's absence.
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good IT skills and experience using accountancy software.
- A professional, personable and proactive approach.
