Reset Health are looking for a Development Team Lead to guide our new Live Platforms development team, balancing hands-on technical delivery with day-to-day scrum master duties.
You'll split your time between writing code alongside the team and running the agile ceremonies that keep the team delivering predictably — planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives — while acting as a first point of contact for technical guidance and mentorship.
Our Live Platforms team is our development ‘fast lane’ making production releases at the end of each two-week sprint. The team are responsible for
- Setting up new customers with any agreed customisations.
- A pipeline of customer-driven enhancements.
- Priority bug fixes and security patches.
- 2nd line technical support (dedicated support engineer part of the team)
Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrum master for the live platforms team facilitating agile ceremonies and coaching the team in agile best-practice.
- Close collaboration with our Product team and Client Programme Lead to groom the backlog and plan each production update.
- Report on sprint progress, velocity, and delivery risk to engineering leadership and other stakeholders.
- Assist in designing and personally develop new platform capabilities requested by current customers. This will involve hands-on development in our React Native front end, Kotlin backend or both.
- Apply AI tools responsibly to deliver productivity benefits while maintaining full oversight.
- Champion strong technical standards and best-practise software engineering: code reviews, unit testing, CI/CD, secure software development.
- Take ownership of the Live Platform which comes with the right to challenge any code/change contributed by other teams that does not meet a Quality Standard you will be pivotal in agreeing.
- Support the recruitment and training of engineers as we grow the team.
- Manage 2nd line support for technical issues as per the Global support Standard Operating Procedure.
- As we grow, help plan out how we’ll evolve the Live Platforms to support our deployments in other timezones.

Requirements
Essential
- Several years' commercial experience as a developer, including some experience leading, mentoring, or informally guiding other engineers. Degree in Computer Science/STEM, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience as a senior/lead developer, with strong hands-on skills in one of (i) React Web (ii) Java
- Strong experience with databases, ideally Mongo (otherwise a RDBMS)
- Experience acting as a Scrum Master or running scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Experience managing a team's backlog and sprints in Jira, including estimation and reporting on velocity.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines, and championing best practice code review.
- Experience developing unit tests and promoting a strong testing culture within a team.
- Experience integrating with RESTful APIs.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable reporting progress and risk to leadership.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Experience mentoring or coaching developers, including conducting 1:1s and giving structured feedback.
Desirable
- Proven experience as a senior/lead developer, with strong hands-on skills in (i) React Native (ii) Kotlin
- A recognised Scrum Master certification (e.g. CSM, PSM).
- Experience working with distributed or remote teams across time zones.
- Exposure to regulated software development in healthcare, especially international standards such as ISO9001, ISO27001 and ISO13485.
- Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards.
- AWS certification(s).
- An interest in health tech and improving patient outcomes through software.
