About Reserve Wines

Reserve Wines, awarded Harper’s Number One UK Independent Wine Merchant in 2025, is on the lookout for a new internal Marketer. A fully independent wine company founded in 2003 by Kate Goodman, we operate across four sites in Greater Manchester — our flagship shop and tasting room in Didsbury, Altrincham Market House, Mackie Mayor, and Picturedrome in Macclesfield — alongside an online shop delivering nationwide and a growing wholesale and corporate channel. We’re a values-led business built on making great wine as fun and accessible as possible and a deep passion for independent food and drink culture. This is an agile and dynamic environment where you will get the chance to really make your mark and learn invaluable commercial skills. Whilst we’ve been around for a while, we love new ideas and ways of doing things.

The Role

This is a hands-on marketing role with full ownership of Reserve Wines’ marketing activity across every channel. You’ll be responsible for helping drive footfall to our sites, designing in-store marketing collateral & merchandising, building & executing our email programme, developing our corporate and wholesale channels, and making our brand come alive on social media. We’re looking for someone who gets things done — who sees an opportunity on a Monday and has a campaign live by Wednesday. You’ll work closely with Kate and Helen, our Head of Operations, and you’ll own the marketing function and be accountable for its results. This is a brilliant opportunity for a marketing executive who is ready to step up, take full accountability, and make a real impact in a business where your work is visible from day one.

What You’ll Do

  • Content, Copy & Design
  • Write compelling copy across all channels — email campaigns, website, social media, in-store signage, wholesale collateral, and corporate communications
  • Create and manage the weekly email programme (Klaviyo), including commercial sends, editorial content, event promotion, and automated flows
  • Develop the Reserve Wines voice — warm, knowledgeable, never pretentious — and keep it consistent everywhere
  • Design and produce POS and website imagery in line with the Reserve brand
  • Social Media & Brand
    • Own and run our social media accounts — Instagram, LinkedIn, and any emerging platforms worth testing
    • Create engaging, authentic content that reflects the personality of our sites and the people behind them
    • Think creatively about how to reach new audiences — collaborations, events, local partnerships, seasonal campaigns, and ideas we haven’t thought of yet
  • Commercial & Customer Growth
    • Drive footfall to our sites through targeted marketing activity
    • Develop and execute the corporate and wholesale marketing programme — reactivation campaigns, new business outreach, seasonal gifting
    • Bring new ideas to the table and have the confidence to execute them
  • Customer Experience & Detail
    • Visit all our sites regularly — look at them through the customer’s eyes and identify how we make them more welcoming, more shoppable, and more likely to encourage spending. Lots of contact time with the teams to enable you to understand how you can best support them
    • Work with the Head of Operations and our teams on-site to keep our sites looking relevant and welcoming, responsible for the in-store merchandising, signage, and point-of-sale materials
    • Consider the customer journey at all times, from first touchpoint to repeat buyer — online, in-store, and everywhere in between
  • Reporting & Accountability
    • Track and report on marketing performance weekly — what you did, what worked, what you’re doing next
    • Own the marketing KPIs and be comfortable being measured on results, not activity
    • Manage the marketing budget and demonstrate return on investment

    Who You Are

    • You have at least 3–5 years’ experience in a marketing role, ideally in retail, hospitality, food and drink, or a consumer-facing independent business
    • You love writing — you can turn a tasting note into a story and a product list into something someone actually wants to read
    • You’re confident on social media and understand what makes content perform, not just look good
    • You’re commercially minded — you understand that marketing exists to drive revenue and you’re motivated by seeing the numbers move
    • You’re a doer. You thrive on finding solutions
    • You’re not afraid to try new things, test ideas, and learn from what doesn’t work
    • You’re genuinely passionate about food, wine, drink, and hospitality — you don’t need to be an expert, but you need to love the world we operate in
    • You have a sharp eye for detail — you notice when a shelf display could be better, when signage isn’t pulling its weight, when a customer journey has friction
    • You’re comfortable working across Klaviyo, social media scheduling tools, basic analytics platforms & Canva (or are confident you can learn quickly)

Nice to Have (But Not Essential)

    • Experience in multi-site retail or hospitality
    • A genuine interest in wine (we’ll teach you the rest)

    What We Offer

    • A salary of £33,000 - £37,000 depending on experience, with a performance-related bonus
    • Full ownership of the marketing function in an award-winning, founder-led business
    • The chance to shape the role and grow with the business as we expand
    • Staff discount across all Reserve Wines sites
    • Employee Assistance programme and wellbeing support
    • Access to Hospitality Rewards app with hundreds of discounts and offers
    • Regular access to tastings, wine events, supplier visits, and the best part of the job — being surrounded by great wine and great people

    How to Apply

Send your CV and a short cover letter to kate@reservewines.co.uk telling us why this role is right for you. We’d love to see examples of your work — campaigns you’ve run, copy you’ve written, social content you’re proud of.
