We are looking for a Permanent Full Time Communications Manager based in our headquarters in Chelmsford, Essex.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all Communications & PR activities and ensure the communications team supports the delivery of the Association’s goals, reporting to the Head of Engagement.
  • Lead planning and delivery for all communications outputs on behalf of the Association.
  • Build strong relationships with members of the Estates, Engagement, Cadets and Business Services teams, nurturing and leveraging productive internal and external relationships.
  • Allocate resources and team expertise efficiently, managing the expectations of all key stakeholders.
  • Show how your work contributes to the Association’s outputs, providing proactive communications support and demonstrating decisions based on solid intelligence.
  • Set strategic goals for digital campaigns to promote the work and interests of the Association.
  • Provide high‑quality copywriting, website content and curation using WordPress, customer‑centric communications, stakeholder engagement messaging, press releases and social media engagement.
  • Produce email newsletters using MailChimp and content for other print and digital publications, and provide media support at engagement events.

Qualifications

  • Experience in relationship management, working with volunteers and local authorities.
  • Strong internal communications skills and expertise in setting and delivering digital campaigns.
  • Excellent copywriting abilities with experience using WordPress, MailChimp, and social media platforms.
  • Ability to allocate resources, manage team expertise, and influence stakeholder expectations.
  • Demonstrated capability to produce press releases and media support for events.
