Ready to Lead a High-Performing Service Team? Research Garage Peugeot & Citroën Hinckley is looking for an experienced and motivated Service Manager to lead our busy Service department. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven automotive professional with strong leadership, organisational and customer service skills. You will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Service department, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and commercial success. Your Responsibilities:

As a Service Manager, you will be responsible for delivering operational excellence, maximising profitability and maintaining the highest standards of customer service. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, motivating and developing the Service team, including Service Advisors, Technicians and Drivers
  • Managing workshop productivity, scheduling and technician utilisation
  • Ensuring an exceptional customer journey by handling escalated enquiries and resolving complaints professionally
  • Monitoring key performance indicators including labour efficiency, workshop utilisation, first-time fix rates and customer satisfaction
  • Working closely with the Sales and Parts departments to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Maintaining manufacturer standards, warranty compliance and Health & Safety requirements
  • Holding daily team briefings to communicate objectives and review performance
  • Reviewing job cards, invoices and service documentation for accuracy
  • Managing workshop loading and capacity to maximise efficiency
  • Driving Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) performance through excellent customer care
  • Working with the Parts Manager to monitor stock levels and parts availability
  • Overseeing warranty submissions and ensuring accurate processing
  • Promoting service plans, extended warranties, accessories and seasonal offers
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing team members through regular reviews and training
  • Managing courtesy vehicles and customer transport arrangements
  • Maintaining a clean, professional and welcoming environment throughout the dealership
  • Liaising with manufacturer representatives and implementing new initiatives
  • Monitoring work-in-progress and keeping customers updated throughout the repair process
  • Completing daily banking and financial checks where required
  • Reviewing technician time records and labour allocation
  • Following up declined work, MOT no-shows and lapsed customers to maximise retention

About You:

We are looking for someone who can lead by example and inspire their team to deliver outstanding results. You will have:

  • Previous experience in a Service Manager role within the automotive industry
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities
  • Experience monitoring KPIs and driving departmental performance
  • Confidence in producing reports and implementing operational improvements
  • A customer-focused approach with excellent problem-solving skills
  • The ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs
  • A full UK driving licence
