Since September 2024, Sulzer Schmid is part of RES, the world’s leading renewable energy company. We are building the 3DX™ Blade Platform and need a senior Android developer for the Software Development team based mainly in Switzerland. In this role you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining our Drone Navigation and Control applications, collaborate with stakeholders to design high‑quality software, and support drone pilots during field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Android applications for drone navigation and control.
- Integrate the DJI Mobile SDK (and similar SDKs) to deliver reliable flight and mission control.
- Collaborate closely with software and operations teams.
- Provide technical support to drone pilots during field operations.
- Drive a product from concept to customer release, contributing throughout the software development lifecycle.
About You
- 5+ years of professional experience in Android development.
- University degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Hands‑on experience with the DJI Mobile SDK or comparable drone control SDKs.
- Proven track record of delivering production‑ready software.
- Ability to bring a product from initial concept to customer release.
- Strong understanding of geospatial reasoning and spatial data.
- Willingness to support drone pilots in the field.
- Experience with navigation and control of drones other than DJI is a plus.
- C#/.NET programming experience is a plus.
- Fluent in English; German is a plus.
