Position Reporting to the Head of Finance UK&I – Development and Construction, the role is responsible for supporting the team to deliver accurate monthly reporting for all UK & Ireland based financial entities. The role will look after the transactional processing for a number of UK based overhead departments, in addition to being responsible for accounting for fixed assets. There will also be the opportunity to work on projects which focus on simplifying current processes with the implementation of our new ERP system. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in office and 2 days remote.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ownership of month end journals and processes for a number of overhead departments, including HR, Finance and IT
  • Prepare accruals and prepayments reconciliations for overhead departments
  • Own the month end fixed asset reporting, preparing journals for fixed asset additions and reconciling the fixed asset registers monthly
  • Prepare and respond to ONS surveys as required
  • Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process for overhead departments, working closely with the Group FP&A team
  • Work closely with the Group FP&A team to confidently and independently respond to queries relating to month end and full year results
  • Play a significant role in the UK audit, supporting with auditor queries and providing supporting documentation as required
  • Support with ad hoc tasks such as 3rd party information requests
Knowledge & Skills
  • Good working knowledge of accounting under IFRS and FRS102
  • Good knowledge of financial systems
  • Organized with good time management skills
  • Experience working in industry
  • Tenacity and attention to detail to deliver high quality financial information
  • Work autonomously and be proactive to meet routine internal reporting deadlines
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Experience
  • Experience with financial systems. IFS system knowledge would be advantageous but not essential
  • Experience working with external auditors
Qualifications
  • Part Qualified / Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
