The position involves joining our APM (Asset Performance Management) team as a Software Engineer with experience in Python, C#, React, and Node.js. You will work on both front-end and back-end features, contributing to our Python-based components and integrations. Collaboration with product owners, designers, and other engineers is essential to develop a market-leading SaaS application.
Accountabilities include:
- Designing, building, and maintaining features across the full stack using Python, C#, React, Node.js & TypeScript.
- Collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers to develop new features that deliver product and business value.
- Ensuring high code quality through best practices, testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
- Delivering changes that positively impact system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Participating in architectural and technical design discussions.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Knowledge required includes expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies, modern frameworks, databases, data lakes, and API design. A good understanding of software architecture, testing, CI/CD, and cloud platforms such as Azure is ideal. Strong knowledge of coding standards, performance optimisation, and security best practices is essential.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong proficiency with Python, ideally as part of a SaaS solution.
- Working experience of React, TypeScript, and modern front-end build tools.
- Solid experience building Node.js applications and APIs.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies such as React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with back-end development in C#.
- Exposure to Databricks is desirable.
- Proficiency in working with data structures such as relational databases.
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure and containerisation tools like Docker.
- Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Experience with authentication, multi-tenancy, and billing in SaaS applications.
- Experience working in an Agile environment within Scrum Teams.
- Ability to communicate progress to managers and collaborate with fellow engineers.
- Solid understanding of software design patterns and best practices.
- Ability to work in a distributed team.
