The Sales Manager will be responsible for promoting and selling RES’s Wind Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Services across the Northern Europe region. The role focuses on building strong relationships with wind asset owners and operators, driving business growth, and ensuring the successful expansion of RES’s O&M services. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including operations, bid management, and engineering, to deliver tailored solutions that meet the operational needs of wind farms.

Key Accountabilities
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for Wind O&M Services, aligned with RES’s business goals for the Northern Europe region.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including long-term contracts for maintenance, large corrective services and performance optimization.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including asset owners, project developers, and other relevant industry players.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for service contracts, ensuring favourable terms for both clients and RES. Prepare and present tailored proposals to prospective customers.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and regional regulations affecting wind energy and O&M services in Northern Europe.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the technical and operations teams to ensure services offered meet client needs and are aligned with RES’s O&M capabilities.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Provide accurate sales forecasts, and maintain records of sales activities and client interactions. Regularly report on progress to senior management.
Knowledge
  • Wind Energy Sector: In-depth knowledge of the wind energy sector, specifically related to operation and maintenance services for wind turbines and wind farms.
  • Technical Understanding: Strong understanding of wind turbine technologies, O&M best practices, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Contracts and Regulations: Familiarity with service contracts, warranties, and relevant Northern Europe regulations governing renewable energy, particularly in the wind sector.
  • Sales Processes: Comprehensive knowledge of sales cycles in the B2B environment, from prospecting through to contract execution.
Skills
  • Communication & Presentation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts in an accessible way.
  • Negotiation & Persuasion: Proven ability to negotiate contracts, close deals, and build consensus among stakeholders.
  • Technical Acumen: Ability to understand and discuss technical aspects of Wind systems, enabling effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Capable of managing multiple clients and sales opportunities simultaneously, with an organized and results-driven approach.
  • Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on client engagement, trust-building, and long-term relationship management.
  • Problem-Solving: A solutions-driven mindset, capable of addressing client challenges and aligning RES’s O&M services with client goals.
Experience
  • Sales in the Wind Industry: Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or business development within the wind energy industry, with a focus on O&M services.
  • Contract Negotiations: Proven experience in negotiating and closing service contracts with wind farm owners and operators.
  • Client-Facing Role: Demonstrated success in a client-facing role, with a focus on delivering customized service solutions.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience working in Northern Europe with an understanding of the regional wind energy market dynamics and key players.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business, or a related field. A master’s degree would be advantageous.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in an additional Northern European language (e.g., Danish, German, Swedish) is highly desirable.
  • Certification: Relevant certifications in sales, energy management, or wind energy operations would be beneficial.
  • Other: Familiarity with digital tools and platforms used for monitoring, diagnosing, and reporting on the performance of Wind systems is desirable.
