We’re looking for a Software Engineer with experience in Python, C#, React, and Node.js to join our APM (Asset Performance Management) team. You will work on both front-end and back-end features and contribute to our Python-based components and integrations. You will collaborate closely with product owners, designers, and other engineers to develop a market-leading SaaS application. This is an opportunity to shape the architecture, contribute to new feature development, and improve the performance and reliability of a product used to enhance the performance of renewable assets every day.

The role is based in Glasgow three days per week.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain features across the full stack using Python, C#, React, Node.js & TypeScript.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to develop new features to an agreed roadmap that delivers product and business value.
  • Ensure high code quality through best practice, testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
  • Deliver change that positively impacts system performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Participate in architectural and technical design discussions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Knowledge:

The ideal candidate would have expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies, including modern frameworks, databases, data lakes, and API design. They should have a good understanding of software architecture, testing, CI/CD, and cloud platforms such as Azure. Strong knowledge of coding standards, performance optimisation, and security best practices is essential. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a tech stack that includes React frontend systems and a mix of Python, Node.js, and C# backend systems.

Skills & Experience:
  • Strong proficiency with Python, ideally as part of a SaaS solution.
  • Working experience of React, TypeScript, and modern front-end build tools.
  • Solid experience building Node.js applications and APIs.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies such as React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with back-end development in C#.
  • Exposure to Databricks is desirable.
  • Proficiency in working with data structures such as relational databases.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure and containerisation tools like Docker.
  • Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
  • Experience with authentication, multi-tenancy, and billing in SaaS applications.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment within Scrum Teams.
  • Ability to communicate progress to managers and collaborate with fellow engineers.
  • Solid understanding of software design patterns and best practices.
  • Ability to work in a distributed team.
