The purpose of this role is to provide Project Management for the Solar O&M service within the Asset Management and Operations department. The Project Manager will plan and execute a programme of upgrade, repair and remediation work on a portfolio of operational solar farms, coordinating closely with the O&M Manager and Asset Manager for each plant. The project plan will be developed in collaboration with technical, procurement, and HSQE specialists, and all owner approvals will be obtained and adhered to. This position is for a 12‐month fixed‐term period.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage a pipeline of Project work through all stages including identification, quotation, approval, scheduling, planning, execution, technical completion, de‐snagging, invoicing and warranty claims.
  • Identify sources of new work from end‐of‐warranty inspections, maintenance inspection reports, serial defects and upgrade opportunities.
  • Forecast the team’s long‐term resource demand and supply, and act on any imbalances.
  • Line‐manage a Site Manager(s), providing coaching, motivation and continuous improvement of quality standards.
  • Develop relationships with selected quality sub‐contractors, manage their site works and provide timely feedback.
  • Draw up a consolidated ongoing Project Plan to identify resources, materials, plant, procedures, costs and timeframes.
  • Execute the Project Plan in accordance with manufacturers and warranty requirements, contract terms, RES quality systems, HSQE standards (including CDM) and best industry practice.
  • React to major plant component failures and execute the contingency plans developed by the O&M Planner.
  • Accountable for the safety, profitability, quality and warranty claims in relation to the Project Plan.
  • Delivery of the approved Project Plan: produce detailed specification and scope documents for tendering, lead procurement activities, award sub‐contracts, finalize programme of works, organise enabling activities (welfare, temporary tracks, power supplies, CDM F10 notifications), project‐manage sub‐contracted works, provide regular status updates to Asset Manager and owner, ensure appropriate testing, commissioning and documentation, and organise handover to incumbent O&M contractor.
  • Coordinate with and provide relevant support to Wind and Battery Storage Project work.
  • Identify opportunities to offer services to RES Construction.
  • Identify resources within RES that can be deployed on the Project Plan (e.g., LAPs, SAPs).
  • Support the development/improvement of the RES Quoting and Invoicing systems.
  • Work with the Procurement/Contracts team to secure sub‐contract frameworks and reduce ad‐hoc contracts.
