This is a hybrid role, based at our Kings Langley office.

The PMO Manager will be assigned across different PMO offices and initiatives according to business need. This hands-on senior role requires someone who thrives in detail, understanding the work deeply enough to manage it credibly.

The role operates across three core areas:

  • ERP programme PMO: Running the PMO office for our ERP rollout, including governance, planning, RAID management, reporting, and ensuring delivery rigour across all workstreams.
  • BAU IT portfolio management: Managing the day-to-day IT project portfolio, prioritising, enforcing delivery standards, tracking progress, and ensuring effective governance.
  • Business-wide initiatives: Leading or supporting strategic and operational initiatives across RES, providing PMO structure and delivery oversight.

This role demands rigorous attention to detail, strong governance instincts, and the ability to engage directly with programme and project teams to ensure realistic plans, understood dependencies, and resolved risks.

Accountabilities:

  • Act as a trusted partner and collaborator with stakeholders across IT and the business.
  • Own and operate the PMO framework for assigned programmes and portfolios.
  • Ensure plans are realistic, tracked, and owned, holding project managers accountable.
  • Provide end-to-end oversight of the project portfolio, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Lead regular portfolio reviews for alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Define, implement, and improve project management standards and governance frameworks.
  • Lead prioritisation of the BAU IT portfolio, optimising resource allocation.
  • Produce high-quality portfolio and programme reporting for senior leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Inspire, mentor, and develop a team of PMO analysts and project managers.

Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum).
  • Strong understanding of IT systems and technology relevant to renewables.
  • Knowledge of governance frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Understanding of business strategy and financial management related to IT projects.
