The Position

You will develop the UK&I Asset Management Grid strategy and lead all client-facing Grid initiatives across our Asset Management portfolio. You will act as a key liaison between support services delivery teams, wider Group functions, and clients. Your role involves supporting the development and delivery of Grid Services related to operational assets managed by the Global Asset Management Teams, aiming to meet company, client, team, and project objectives. While primarily supporting the UK Asset Management Team, opportunities to collaborate with other RES regions will be available. You will ensure that our Asset Management portfolio complies with Grid Code requirements, working closely with various internal teams and external stakeholders including clients and industry bodies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and reviewing Grid strategies
  • Monitoring regulatory changes
  • Supporting new ancillary services development
  • Providing regular reports
  • Engaging with clients and industry events

The role also involves technical and commercial understanding of Grid services, managing ad-hoc Grid queries, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. Travel within the UK, Ireland, and Europe is expected, including attending conferences and industry consultations to represent RES.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of Grid Ancillary Services for renewable assets (Wind, Solar, Battery Storage)
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, and industry standards
  • Experience with wind turbine, battery storage, and solar technology
  • Electrical safety and industry standards knowledge
  • Initiative, planning, organization, project management, and commercial awareness skills

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience managing Grid-related issues on renewable assets
  • Project management experience in an engineering or renewables environment
  • Knowledge of Wind, Solar, and Battery Storage technologies
  • Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
