This role will be based in our Kings Langley or Glasgow office on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 3 days per week spent in the office.
The position is a varied and dynamic role within the world’s largest privately-owned renewable energy company, suitable for a recent graduate or someone with 1-2 years of work experience looking to build a career in the renewables industry. You’ll join an established team overseeing and contributing to the safe and value-enhancing performance of a portfolio of renewable energy projects owned by TRIG: a FTSE-250-listed fund invested in onshore and offshore wind, solar and storage in the UK and Europe.
The role will utilise a wide range of financial, commercial and inter-personal competencies, along with excellent numeracy and analytical capabilities and a genuine interest and passion for the renewables industry. Excellent numeracy skills are a must, alongside strong written English, effective time management and the confidence to raise questions and engage with a range of personnel within RES, the TRIG group, project company board members and key service providers.
Accountabilities include:
- Oversight of project performance, including developing relationships and working with site-focused asset managers.
- Analysis of operational and financial reports and data for key drivers of performance, risks and industry developments.
- Communication of key events to management.
- Annual budget creation, oversight of contracts, financial distributions.
- Understanding commercial performance, risks and opportunities.
- Ensuring good governance via understanding of safety performance, managing approvals, adhering to good practice processes and respecting sustainability considerations.
- Contributing to quarterly reports, with clear and concise explanations of technical, financial and commercial information.
- Management of core team processes critical to the smooth running of the portfolio.
- Providing support to the wider team, with exposure to and involvement in a variety of different projects, regions and technologies, and activities such as setting strategic direction, contract tender processes and negotiations, and implementing value enhancement opportunities.
This role sits in RES’ TRIG team, responsible for overseeing TRIG’s development, construction and operational portfolio. This team works closely with operations-focused departments in both RES and TRIG’s investment partners, in each of TRIG’s countries of operation. The team of approximately 15 people is based within the UK, primarily in Kings Langley and Glasgow within the wider RES business of 4,500 employees globally.
