The Senior Sales Manager AM – Northern Europe will be a full‑time member of the Asset Management (AM) Sales team, working closely with regional AM leads on securing new business opportunities within Northern Europe across key technologies such as on and offshore wind, solar, battery storage, and hydrogen for Asset Management and other specialist services. The role covers all technical, commercial, and financial asset management services delivered by RES Asset Management, including ancillary services like Portfolio Management, Advisory, Data & Analytics services, and 24/7/365 Control Room services. The Senior Sales Manager AM will also identify cross‑selling opportunities for other RES Services including O&M and Digital Solutions.
Accountabilities include:
- Supporting the Regional AM Head in executing the regional AM sales growth plan/strategy.
- Supporting Sales Managers in planning and delivering sales activity aligned to agreed regional targets.
- Creating, developing, and maintaining client relationships, preparing and delivering presentations, and generating opportunities to submit bids.
- Contributing to the development of services offered, their costs, and profitability.
- Managing all relevant opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract signature/handover to the Asset Management Heads of Department.
- Providing peer review and quality assurance input on regional AM tender and bid responses prior to submission.
- Reporting on regional Sales KPIs and providing regular feedback on performance and opportunities.
- Ensuring all regional AM sales opportunities follow the relevant business approval process prior to submission.
- Correctly recording and tracking opportunities, customer interactions, and project data within the CRM system (SalesForce).
- Identifying cross‑selling opportunities for RES Services.
- Helping to develop a culture of continuous improvement through analysis of customer and internal feedback.
The role will also require travel within the region and occasionally internationally, as well as attendance at key conferences to enhance RES’s visibility in the market.
Knowledge required includes:
- Typical contents of a sales and marketing plan for selling services in a B2B environment.
- Knowledge of wind/solar/storage renewable energy sectors, particularly AM clients, competitors, and contractors.
- Principles of key account management.
- Contractual terms in relation to AM.
Skills needed:
- Excellent communication skills for leading teams and representing RES credibly.
- Strong numerical analysis skills for developing cost models.
- A keen eye for detail when reviewing AM bids/tender responses.
- Strong research and strategic analysis abilities.
- Good organisational skills to meet demanding timescales.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and CRM systems.
Experience required includes:
- Planning and delivering sales activities in a B2B environment.
- Preparing, reviewing, and analysing tenders and proposals.
- Working within the renewable energy sectors.
A degree in business, engineering, management, or similar is desirable, but a proven background in relevant sales activity may be sufficient.
