Overview
RES is the world\\\'s largest independent renewable energy company. This role is for an EDGE Computing SCADA Engineer based in Larne, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. You will report to the Senior Manager – Product Delivery and be responsible for configuring and deploying the Edge software into operating wind and solar farms, coordinating with Site Technicians for hardware installation and with OT Engineers for remote communications. You will use the cloud-based HMI to configure software according to project requirements and deploy it to the edge box. Projects may vary in life cycle stage and may span different product lines.
Responsibilities
- Configure and deploy the Edge software onto edge boxes at wind and solar farms.
- Coordinate with Site Technicians for hardware installation and with OT Engineers for network configuration and remote communications.
- Use cloud-based HMI to configure software per project requirements and deploy to edge hardware.
- Lead multiple projects in varying stages and across different product lines.
- Manage and lead technical discussions with internal and external IT/OT specialists to agree networking and cyber security design for edge box installations.
- Manage completion of product onboarding and site-specific documentation (networking, IP addresses, site topology).
- Procure edge box hardware and manage logistics.
- Provide remote support to field technicians, OT Engineers, and Site Management during deployments; create and execute Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and on-site integration.
- Develop and document technical processes to ensure knowledge transfer and best practices.
- Monitor and maintain software and hardware of existing customer deployments.
Knowledge
- Familiarity with Operational Technology (OT) networks and cybersecurity industry practices.
- Familiarity with IT systems, computer hardware and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems.
- Familiarity with Wind Turbine and/or Solar Inverter Controller networks is desirable.
- Familiarity with industrial automation principles and communication protocols (Modbus, OPC, etc.) is desirable.
- Knowledge of how wind and solar farms operate is desirable.

Qualifications
- Bachelor\\\'s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent qualifications.
