The position involves providing safety from the system for the construction & commissioning of the 1.4GW East Anglia 3 (EA3) Wind farm & the associated OFTO assets. The project will require several 66kV SAPs (Senior Authorised Persons) to ensure the programme is maintained throughout the project. Full time employee and contracting positions are available with planned start dates in line with the contractor programme of works from: August 2025, November 2025 & January 2026.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Always adhere to health and safety requirements and help to maintain and improve safety standards
  • Achieve and maintain Senior Authorised Person status
  • Become fully conversant and ensure that all works are undertaken in accordance with the Iberdrola Renewables Offshore Electrical & Mechanical Safety Rules, Renewables System Safety Instructions, including but not limited to:
  • Preparing, issuing and cancelling safety documents
  • Preparing switching schedules
  • Carrying out switching, isolation and earthing duties
  • Carrying out pre-energisation inspections
  • HV switchgear on-site tests
  • Producing and reviewing method statements and risk assessments
  • Producing maintenance plans for HV equipment
  • Maintaining the asset register
  • Management and/or delivery of planned and unplanned maintenance activities on electrical equipment
  • Producing final reports
  • Carry out basic protection testing on HV related equipment
  • Undertaking troubleshooting and fault-finding on Iberdrola controlled plant/equipment
  • Keeping in close communication with 400kV Electrical Works Co-Ordinators & Lead SAP
  • Reacting to emergencies, site outages and changing circumstances
  • Other duties commensurate with the role
  • Willing to be based on an SOV or Jack-up Vessel during rotations
  • Knowledge:
    • HV Safe Systems of Work
    • Knowledge of the key legislation underpinning UK high voltage electrical asset operation and maintenance
    • Detailed knowledge of UK industry HV electrical safety rules
    • Detailed knowledge of HV equipment
    • HV maintenance practices including HSG230
    • Knowledge of working offshore
    Skills:
    • Strong approach to safe working practices
    • Able to operate and maintain various types of HV plant/equipment
    • Ability to coordinate multiple activities whilst ensuring safety and quality are maintained
    • Ability to identify problems, conduct analysis and develop solutions
    Experience:
    • Previously authorised as 66kV SAP
    • Previously worked on an offshore project
    • Operation and maintenance of HV Equipment
    • Experience in fault finding on HV plant and equipment
    • Commissioning HV plant and equipment
    • Basic HV protection testing
    • Siemens 8VM1 Switchgear (Desirable)
    Qualifications:
    • Full UK driving licence
    • Previously held SAP authorisation under high voltage electrical safety rules at 66kV
    • NEBOSH/IOSH Managing Safely or CITB SMSTS or equivalent
