Key Responsibilities
- PEOPLE
- To work collaboratively with the Warehouse team on shift every day to ensure smooth running daily operations.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, including Production, Transport and Sales teams.
- Support and assist with training of new staff on standard procedures and product handling.
- Promote a safe, respectful and positive work environment.
- PRODUCT
- Understand all species, preparations and product range, to ensure the correct products that meet high quality specifications are delivered to every client. Handle products with care to prevent damage or spoilage.
- Picker/Packer product responsibilities – correctly collating orders from the sections – Oysters, Cured, Shellfish and Fresh Products.
- Goods In product responsibilities - Ensure all delivered goods meet required standards for our clients and report any poor quality, returned or credited items immediately to procurement team.
- PROCESS
- Ensure all Goods In delivered are accurately recorded and uploaded on the system.
- As directed by your manager, conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate, up-to-date inventory records.
- Input orders on the system, taking note of communications/order modifications sent in WhatsApp groups, emails, amending order and communicating changes where necessary.
- Ensure pick lists, prep lists and labels are available for Picker/Packer team. Confirm & post Sales orders against completed picklists (entering qtys & wgts).
- Completing and sending the morning handover reports – e.g. Shortages report.
- Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP guidelines.
- Ensure proper labelling and storage of goods to avoid contamination or cross-contact. Ensure all products are organised in an organised and hygienic manner.
- PROFIT
- Support operational efficiency by identifying and communicating opportunities to reduce costs or save time.
- Help prevent financial loss by reducing errors such as mispicks, incorrect weights, wastage and incorrect stock counts.
- Ensure accuracy in order and goods in input and proactively report any issues related to shortages, credit notes, or customer errors to your line manager.
- PROPERTY
- Handle equipment responsibly (e.g., pallet jacks, scales, computers). Do not use any equipment you have not qualified or been trained to operate.
- Report maintenance issues or damage to equipment or facilities promptly.
- PLANNING
- Monitor daily stock levels or inconsistencies and report to managers to support purchasing decisions.
- Assist in planning and preparing for seasonal fluctuations or large order volumes.
- Support shift transitions and weekly workflow by updating records and passing on relevant information to day teams.
- SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Positive attitude, self-motivated and a team player.
- Experience in warehouse, food production or wholesale environment (seafood experience desirable).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Familiarity with stock management systems, basic IT, literacy and numerical skill.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling in cold environments.
- Good people skills and the ability to work as part of the team.
- Problem solver & ability to cope and manage fast changing requirements.
