We are looking for a motivated and technically strong Network Security Engineer to join our small but highly capable infrastructure team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong Fortinet/FortiGate experience and Cisco patching expertise who is looking to play a key role in maintaining and improving a secure and resilient IT environment.
As part of a close-knit team, you will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the organisations network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, up-to-date security, and high reliability across all systems. We are looking for an individual who brings ideas, enthusiasm, and a collaborative approach, with the primary objective of supporting existing team members while enhancing the delivery of security-focused updates and improvements to the infrastructure.
The role will be primarily network focused; however, due to the size of the team, there will also be opportunities and expectations to contribute to wider infrastructure and security projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage, maintain, and support Fortinet/FortiGate firewall environments
- Perform Cisco network patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities
- Monitor network performance, security, and availability
- Implement security updates and best practices across the infrastructure
- Support infrastructure improvement and security enhancement projects
- Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues across the business
- Work closely with internal teams to maintain a secure and stable IT environment
- Assist with documentation, change management, and operational procedures
- Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet/FortiGate technologies
- Experience with Cisco networking and patch management
- Good understanding of network security principles and best practices
- Experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure
- Ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues
- Knowledge of switching, routing, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall policies
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to contribute ideas and improvements
- Experience working within small infrastructure or IT teams
- Exposure to infrastructure and security project delivery
- Relevant Fortinet or Cisco certifications
