What You’ll Be Doing
As the Head of Fundraising, you’ll work closely with the CEO and SMT to shape and implement the organisation’s strategic vision. Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Development and Leadership
- Provide leadership and direction for fundraising, marketing, and communications, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s goals.
- Contribute to the wider strategic vision as part of the Senior Management Team (SMT).
- Create and embed a donor-centric culture that prioritises impactful, long-term relationships.
Fundraising Excellence
- Implement and deliver the organisation’s five-year fundraising strategy.
- Innovate across all fundraising streams—individual giving, major donor, legacy, trust and corporate, events, and community fundraising.
- Monitor and analyse fundraising trends, using data-driven insights to optimise performance and develop best practices.
Team Leadership and Development
- Inspire, coach, and develop your team to reach their full potential.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
- Lead by example, demonstrating passion, professionalism, and a results-driven approach.
Financial and Operational Accountability
- Oversee the preparation and management of six-figure budgets, ensuring financial performance meets or exceeds expectations.
- Work closely with the Finance team to allocate funds effectively and report transparently to stakeholders.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Significant experience developing and implementing high-level fundraising strategies.
- A strong track record of success in managing six-figure+ budgets and delivering on ambitious income targets.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate.
- Expertise in marketing, communications, and brand development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector, ideally within humanitarian, development, or military causes.
- Familiarity with CRMs and data-driven fundraising.
- A project management qualification or equivalent experience.
