We're exclusively supporting a highly successful and expanding national organisation in the search for a Financial Accountant to join its Head Office finance team in Andover.

This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified or finalist ACCA/CIMA professional looking to take the next step in their career within a business that continues to invest, evolve and grow.

Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider leadership team, you'll gain exposure well beyond traditional financial reporting. You'll be involved in commercial analysis, business improvement projects, budgeting, forecasting, systems development and strategic decision-making, giving you the opportunity to develop both your technical and commercial finance skills.

The role

Reporting into a Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting while providing meaningful insight to support business performance and future growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing monthly, quarterly and annual financial accounts
  • Managing month‑end processes including accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
  • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Analysing P&L performance and investigating variances against budget
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
  • Preparing quarterly VAT returns and ensuring compliance
  • Assisting with statutory accounts and external audit requirements
  • Providing financial analysis and commentary to support decision-making
  • Supporting finance system enhancements and process improvement initiatives
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the wider business

Who we are looking for?

You'll be someone who enjoys understanding the story behind the numbers and wants to develop into a broader commercial finance role.

  • Newly qualified or finalist ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience within a finance environment
  • Strong month‑end accounting experience
  • Balance sheet reconciliation and P&L analysis experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience working with accounting or ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with non‑finance stakeholders
  • A proactive approach and desire to continuously improve processes
