Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you’ll become part of a collaborative, forward-thinking finance function where your work will go beyond producing accurate financial reports. You’ll provide valuable insight, support strategic decision-making, contribute to business improvement projects and help shape the future of the finance function. The Opportunity
As Financial Accountant, you’ll be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting while supporting the wider business with meaningful financial insight. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
- Managing month-end activities, including accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Producing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls
- Analysing profit and loss performance and investigating financial variances
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
- Preparing VAT returns and assisting with statutory accounts
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Supporting year-end audit processes
- Producing financial analysis to support commercial decision-making
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, systems and finance processes
- Working closely with colleagues across the business to provide financial support and guidance
About You
You’ll be an ambitious finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to continue developing your career. You’ll ideally have:
- Newly qualified or nearly qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- At least three years' experience within a finance environment
- Strong experience of month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
- Experience analysing financial performance and P&L reporting
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Experience using accounting or ERP systems (SAP would be advantageous but isn’t essential)
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- A proactive approach and the confidence to build relationships across the wider business
