Financial Planning Operations Trainer | Hybrid: 3 days on site |

Are you the person your team comes to when they're stuck on Curo, a suitability report or a process nobody else can explain?

If you've spent years as a Paraplanner, Planning Administrator, Client Support Specialist or in Financial Planning Operations, you already know how an advice business really works. This role lets you step away from day-to-day casework and use that knowledge to train and develop advisers, paraplanners and support staff across the business.

Please note: this role requires hands‑on experience inside a financial planning business. We aren't looking for a generalist trainer from another sector. What matters most is that you understand advice processes, compliance workflows and the systems behind them. You don't need a formal training background, although it's a bonus if you have one. What we need is someone who has lived the work and enjoys helping others get good at it.

About our client:

Their mission is to improve everyone's relationship with their wealth, so that it becomes a positive force for their future rather than a source of anxiety. Our client, managed and advises on over £12 billion of client assets. They have grown organically and through carefully integrated acquisitions. And due to that growth, is exactly why this role exists: every new firm and new colleague needs to be brought onto our systems and ways of working properly.

What you'll be doing

  • Onboarding and training new starters, delivering refresher training, and helping colleagues from newly acquired firms integrate smoothly into Saltus.
  • Delivering process and system training one-to-one and in groups, both face‑to‑face and remotely.
  • Running discovery at acquired firms to understand how they currently work, then building those differences into integration training.
  • Carrying out training needs analysis, then designing and delivering solutions that close the gaps.
  • Acting as super user and trainer for core systems
  • Documenting standard operating procedures for core financial planning processes and working with the Advice Quality Team to get them approved.
  • Creating and maintaining training materials in our LMS, and keeping accurate, timely training records.
  • Assessing capability and competence after training and giving constructive feedback.
  • Responding to new training needs arising from acquisitions, system changes, new products, policy updates and strategic projects.

What you'll bring

  • At least 3–5 years in financial planning, ideally in paraplanning or planning support roles. This is essential.
  • A strong grasp of advice processes, adviser support, suitability reporting, client servicing and business workflows.
  • Experience as the go-to person for systems and processes, or in mentoring and supporting colleagues.
  • Strong familiarity with CRMs and back‑office systems such as Curo, Intelligent Office or Salesforce.
  • Patience, and the ability to explain things clearly without jargon.
  • The ability to own projects, work autonomously and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.

Nice to have

  • DipFA/DipPFS (Level 4). Practical operational expertise matters more.
  • Previous experience delivering training within financial planning.
  • Experience working with LMS platforms.

Where you'll work

You’ll be based on site part of the week with flexibilty to work remotely the remainder of your time. An excellent organisation and opportunity to grab with both hands. Contact Liam McConnell today.
