The Role As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services to meet strict quality, cost, and delivery targets. You’ll play a key role in supply chain management, ensuring continuity while identifying opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members, fostering a high-performing procurement function. Key Responsibilities * Procurement Strategy – Source and purchase goods and services in line with cost, quality, and delivery objectives. * Supplier Management – Maintain strong relationships, assess performance, and drive improvements in quality and service. * Contract Negotiation – Secure competitive pricing and terms while managing risk. * Stakeholder Collaboration – Engage with internal teams and suppliers to align procurement with operational needs. * Process Improvement – Drive efficiencies, reduce costs, and explore alternative sourcing strategies. * Compliance & Risk – Ensure procurement activities adhere to regulatory, industry, and business standards. What We’re Looking For Essential: * Strong procurement experience in Defence, Aerospace, or Technical Manufacturing. * Skilled negotiator with a track record of securing value-driven contracts. * Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. * Problem-solving mindset, able to assess risks and implement strategic improvements. * Commercially astute, with an understanding of cost-saving initiatives and supply chain management.
