An established UK manufacturer and market leader in water management solutions for secure and clinical environments is seeking a Secure Environment Sales Manager to take ownership of its Mental Health sector across the UK. This privately owned business designs and manufactures robust, anti-ligature and safety-critical products used extensively within mental health hospitals and secure healthcare facilities. With sustained growth and a strong reputation in this space, the company is looking to strengthen its commercial presence through the appointment of a technically capable, relationship-driven sales professional.
The Role
Reporting to the Sales Director, this role will focus on developing and managing sales within mental health environments, including:
- Mental Health Hospitals
- Secure and Forensic Mental Health Units
- NHS Trusts and associated healthcare estates
- Specialist care providers and secure healthcare facilities
The role is heavily specification-led, requiring close collaboration with clinicians, estates teams, architects, consulting engineers, contractors and facilities providers. Significant UK-wide travel is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sales activity within the Mental Health sector using a proactive, top-down specification sales approach
- Develop strong working relationships with NHS Trusts, healthcare estates teams, architects, engineers, contractors and specialist care providers
- Provide technical sales and product support throughout the full project lifecycle
- Identify, track and convert new project opportunities using CRM and project tracking systems
- Prepare accurate quotations and compliant tender responses, including interpretation of drawings, schedules and specifications
- Ensure products are specified at early design stages and carried through to order placement
- Deliver agreed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
- Work closely with internal sales, marketing and senior leadership teams to support sector growth
- Represent the business at client meetings, site visits and occasional industry events
About You
This role would suit someone who enjoys consultative, technically informed sales within healthcare or construction-related environments and understands the sensitivities of mental health settings.
- Experience in B2B sales within construction, building products or technical manufacturing
- A technical or engineering background, or strong experience reading blueprints, drawings and specifications
- Exposure to specification sales and multi-stakeholder project environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clinical, technical and commercial stakeholders
- A proactive, self-motivated and detail-oriented approach
- Candidates from backgrounds such as technical sales, specification sales, construction consultancy, interior systems design, kitchen or healthcare equipment design, or similar technically focused roles will be well suited.
Security Clearance
This role requires Enhanced Level 1 (EL1) clearance, including an enhanced DBS check.
Package & Benefits
Salary circa Β£35,000 per annum. Fully funded company car (including personal use), laptop and mobile phone, 24 days holiday plus.
