Management Accountant | £55,000 – £60,000 | On-site If you're looking for glass offices, pristine desks and a completely paperless finance department, this isn't the one for you. If, however, you'd quite like to join a successful, established business with bags of character, a genuinely friendly team and plenty of opportunity to make your mark, keep reading. ReQuire is recruiting a Management Accountant for a fascinating Salisbury business operating within the furniture, design and hospitality world. And it's a little different. This is a workplace with real personality. Part office, part operational environment and always full of life. There's history, character and activity everywhere you look, with a friendly team of people who clearly enjoy being part of the business. It's busy. It's creative. It's informal. And it's definitely not corporate. Commercially, the business is hugely successful and established, but some of its processes remain reassuringly old school. There are files. There is paper. There are systems that could work harder. And that's partly why this appointment is so important. The opportunity Joining the leadership team and reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll take ownership of the company's financial management, reporting and controls. This isn't simply about producing the monthly numbers. They want someone who can understand what those numbers are telling them and help the Directors make better commercial decisions. You'll produce management accounts, budgets and forecasts, oversee cashflow and working capital and develop clearer reporting across different revenue streams. You'll also get properly involved in the commercial side of the business, looking at margins, pricing, costs, stock and profitability and helping management understand where improvements can be made. There is also a genuine opportunity to improve how things are done. The business is developing its ERP capability and wants its new Management Accountant to help strengthen processes, controls and reporting. They're not looking for someone to arrive with a corporate playbook and change everything overnight. They're looking for someone pragmatic who can understand the business first, then help move it forward. You'll be responsible for * Monthly management accounts, variance analysis and commentary * Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management * Financial reporting across multiple revenue streams * Margin, pricing and cost analysis * Working capital, including stock, debtors and creditors * Financial modelling and scenario planning * VAT, PAYE and UK accounting compliance * Year-end accounts and the annual audit * Improving financial controls and reporting * Supporting the continued development of ERP and finance systems * Managing and developing a small, established finance team * Working closely with Directors and operational teams across the business The current accounts function consists of three people, two full-time and one part-time, including a Finance & Administration Manager who has been with the business for a good period of time. Who are we looking for? Ideally you will be fully qualified, but open to the right candidate qualified by experience but it's key you have some strong management accounting experience and a background within a manufacturing or product-led environment would be advantageous. . Some experience around stock, cost accounting, project accounting, manufacturing, furniture, interiors or retail would all translate particularly well. You'll be comfortable with Excel, accounting systems and ERP environments, but equally comfortable rolling your sleeves up and working within a business where not everything has been digitised yet. Most importantly, you'll need to enjoy being part of a business. This isn't somewhere you'll disappear into a corporate finance function. You'll be working alongside people who design, manufacture, sell and deliver physical products, and you'll be expected to understand what's happening around you and become a trusted commercial voice within the company. The important bits * Hours: Monday–Friday, 9.00am–5.30pm * Location: Salisbury based * Working pattern: Office based initally * Parking: Free on-site parking, although finding your favourite space may occasionally require a little competitive spirit! * Dress code: Relaxed and informal The offices themselves are currently being refurbished and developed, so you'll be joining a business that's evolving physically as well as commercially. There's nothing polished or overly corporate about this environment, and that's precisely its charm. For the right Management Accountant, this is an opportunity to join a business with real personality, get close to the commercial decisions and leavea visible footprint on how its finance function develops. If that sounds like your sort of place, we'd love to tell you more. Contact Liam McConnell today he would be delighted to discuss the opportunity with you. (phone number removed)
