3D Designer (Blender & Roblox Studio) in Cheltenham

We’re looking for a talented 3D Designer with experience in Blender and Roblox Studio to help create world-class virtual retail experiences that are seen by millions of players.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for designing and building engaging retail spaces, interactive environments and branded experiences within hex. Working alongside our creative, product and client teams, you’ll transform real-world brands into immersive Roblox experiences while ensuring everything is beautifully optimised for performance.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-quality virtual stores and branded environments in Roblox Studio.
• Create and optimise 3D assets using Blender.
• Develop engaging retail spaces that are visually impressive while maintaining excellent gameplay performance.
• Produce modular assets and environments that can be reused across multiple experiences.
• Ensure all assets meet Roblox best practices for optimisation, including polygon budgets, draw calls, texture sizes and overall file size.
• Collaborate with designers, developers and account managers to deliver projects on time.
• Help prototype new gameplay features and interactive retail concepts.
• Troubleshoot and improve existing environments as the platform evolves.
• Stay up to date with the latest Roblox features, workflows and technical capabilities.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience using Blender.
• Strong experience building experiences in Roblox Studio.
• Excellent understanding of low-poly modelling and optimisation techniques.
• Solid knowledge of polygon counts, texture optimisation, UV mapping and efficient asset creation.Understanding of Roblox performance limitations and best practices.
• Experience creating game-ready assets for real-time environments.
• Good eye for composition, lighting, colour and environmental storytelling.
• Ability to interpret brand guidelines and translate them into engaging virtual spaces.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a wider creative team.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Experience with Roblox UI or basic scripting (Lua).
• Experience creating interactive gameplay elements.
• Knowledge of lighting, VFX and animation workflows.
• Experience working on branded gaming experiences.
• Passion for gaming, virtual worlds and digital fashion.
• Familiarity with version control and collaborative production pipelines.
