POSITION SUMMARY:

The Environmental Services Field Technician performs operational functions related to emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous spill clean-up, and Hazmat Decontamination work.

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Conduct confined space entries such as manholes, tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping, shoveling, high-pressure washing, and other remedial activities.
2. Operate light and heavy equipment related to cleanup, including rolloff trucks, vacuum trucks, box trucks, skid steers, forklifts, pumps, and pallet jacks.
3. Respond to customer spills and emergencies during and outside normal business hours.
4. Perform pre-trip and post-trip Department of Transportation inspections.
5. Maintain vehicle logs.
6. Perform general housekeeping and equipment/site maintenance.
7. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to operate heavy and light equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and use hand and shop tools and instruments.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
• Ability to prioritize, stay focused, and manage multiple responsibilities.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of related experience.
• Current 40-hour HAZWOPER Training or ability to pass the course upon hire.
