Republic Europe are looking for a high-energy, commercially-minded Venture Fund Business Development Associate to lead our engagement with the UK and European VC ecosystem. This is a critical growth role where you will be the primary bridge between Republic Europe and the continent's top venture funds. Your mission is twofold: drive revenue through fund-led products and scale startup dealflow via strategic referral partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Ecosystem & Relationship Development
- Build and nurture deep relationships with GPs and Platform Leads at Tier-1 and Tier-2 venture capital funds across the UK and Europe.
- Position Republic Europe as the preferred "liquidity and community" partner for their portfolio companies.
- Act as the face of Republic at industry events, GP dinners, and venture summits.
- Revenue & Pipeline Management
- Own direct revenue targets related to fund-led products.
- Manage the full "Funds" lifecycle: from initial outreach and pitch to closing and onboarding.
- Maintain a rigorous CRM (Salesforce) and provide accurate weekly forecasts to the leadership team.
- Strategic Dealflow & Partnerships
- Design and execute referral programs that incentivise VCs to funnel high-quality startup dealflow to the Republic platform.
- Evaluate incoming startup leads from partners to ensure they meet our "high-growth" investment criteria.
- Engagement & Content Coordination
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to produce VC-specific content (newsletters, "Fund Spotlights," and industry whitepapers).
- Coordinate exclusive engagement activities, including webinars for fund LPs and physical networking events.
- Liaise with Finance and Sales to ensure seamless deal execution and fee reconciliation for partner-led transactions.
Who You Are
- The Networker: You have an existing network, or the ability to build one rapidly, within the European VC space.
- The Revenue Driver: You have a "hunter" mindset. You aren’t afraid of revenue targets and understand how to navigate complex B2B sales cycles.
- The Connector: You can translate "VC-speak" into marketing assets and financial reporting, effortlessly moving between different internal departments.
- The Operator: You are obsessed with pipeline hygiene. You know that a deal isn’t real unless it’s in the CRM with a clear close date.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in Venture Capital, Investment Banking, Fintech Partnerships, or a high-growth Sales role.
- Strong understanding of private equity and fund structures.
- Exceptional communication skills, both as a public speaker and a writer.
- Ability to work autonomously in a "Think like a founder" environment.
Bonus Points If You Have...
- Operational experience (like marketing, fundraising, legal, growth hacking, or customer acquisition) that you can share to help our entrepreneurs.
- A good understanding of marketing and how it fuels business growth.
- You're already familiar with the Republic ecosystem – maybe you’ve invested through our platform or even worked at one of our Fund portfolio companies.
We believe that great talent comes in all shapes and sizes, so there’s no single "perfect" profile here! Our team is made up of people from all sorts of backgrounds – sales, law, accounting, even fellow entrepreneurs. What ties us all together is a shared love for start-ups and the start-up ecosystem.
The Interview Process
- 30-minute chat with a Funds Manager.
- 1-hour interview (task) with a Funds Manager and other members of the team.
- Final culture interview.
