The Technical Authority Manager will be essential in driving the business plan forward by providing robust technical assurance, oversight, and support to ensure continued safe operations aligned with the Company’s technical and performance standards.

Accountabilities:

  • Ensure compliance with regulations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies for reliable and efficient asset operations throughout their lifecycle.
  • Monitor asset performance and adherence to the License to Operate and company standards.
  • Maintain and communicate performance and technical standards.
  • Endorse the Technical Authority Team and act as Technical Contract Owner for the Independent Verification provider.
  • Implement and oversee the company technical audit plan, sharing insights with the executive team.

Key Duties:

  • Optimize Assurance Planned Maintenance.
  • Approve technical queries and deviations from standards.
  • Make technical decisions amidst competing priorities.
  • Investigate incidents and define SMART actions.
  • Guide decisions on Safety Critical Elements.
  • Audit safety-critical standards and manage procedures effectively.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, including regulators and the Independent Verification Body.
  • Support the development of discipline engineers and contribute to projects and new initiatives.

Professional Skills & Experience:

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent.
  • Chartered Engineer with a recognized engineering institute.
  • Experience in oil & gas or petrochemical engineering, covering technical assurance and operations.
  • In-depth technical and operational understanding of oil and gas processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge across all relevant disciplines.
  • Experience interfacing with regulatory bodies.
  • Detailed understanding of License to Operate and UK regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Modification Management of Change (MoC), especially in oil and gas.
  • Awareness of Human Factors and Major Accident Hazards, including causation and prevention.
