The Senior Reservoir Engineer is responsible for constructing and maintaining reservoir models, integrating geoscience interpretations to assess static properties. Identifies and evaluates options for enhancing production and optimizing recovery, while managing reservoir engineering studies conducted by third-party contractors and vendors. Additionally, guides reservoir engineers, supports continuous improvement initiatives, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to identify new drilling opportunities, and generates life of field production profiles while ensuring accurate reserves estimates and compliance.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:- Construct and maintain appropriate reservoir models integrating geoscience interpretations to assess static reservoir properties.
- Identify and evaluate options for enhancing production and optimizing recovery.
- Manage reservoir engineering studies conducted by third-party contractors and vendors, ensuring quality and adherence to standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the company, contributing to the refinement of reservoir management strategies.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary sub-surface team to identify new drilling opportunities and interventions for production enhancement.
- Generate Life of Field production profiles and maintain auditable reserves estimates and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Define Reservoir Surveillance Plan to monitor reservoir performance and identify optimization opportunities.
- Lead and coordinate Development Project Maturation activities when necessary, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Provide technical expertise, support and guidance to reservoir engineers.
- Develop comprehensive reservoir management strategies for each field to maximize production and economic recovery.
- Collaborate with Production Engineers to design cost-effective monitoring strategies for verifying reservoir management effectiveness.
- Evaluate various options to enhance production rates and optimize hydrocarbon recovery.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary subsurface team to assess incremental production and reserves potential for each identified opportunity.
- Quantify key risks and uncertainties associated with development options, providing comprehensive risk assessments.
- Maintain a prioritized inventory of development opportunities, considering feasibility and potential returns.
- Design and implement study and monitoring programs to mitigate risks and uncertainties and improve development strategies.
- Prepare detailed business cases in collaboration with other departments, outlining benefits, costs, and risks for each opportunity.
- Collaborate closely with Production Engineers/Technologists to optimize well performance and potential.
- Provide input to the business planning processes.
- Write concise reports for all studies and maintain comprehensive, accessible, up-to-date records of input and interpreted data.
- Previous experience in reservoir engineering with Oil & Gas operating companies.
- Expertise on Eclipse and Petrel RE.
- Good knowledge in OFM, Future, MBAL, Prosper and Saphir well test interpretation software is highly valued.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geoscience or related field.
