The Field Development Concept (FDC) Lead oversees delivering proposals and development concepts for new field developments, ensuring timely evaluations, addressing uncertainties, and coordinating multidisciplinary inputs before submission of a Field Development Plan (FDP).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand and coordinate with various disciplines on:
  • Environmental factors: geotechnical, location, existing infrastructure, regulatory/fiscal regime, production-sharing contract terms.
  • Reservoir uncertainties with Subsurface: reserves, well rates, fluids composition, flow assurance issues, reservoir management strategy.
  • Drilling requirements: drill centers, well costs, intervention frequency, wet vs. dry trees analysis.
  • Facilities options: develop technical proposals, cost estimates (CAPEX, OPEX, ABEX), and identify challenges.
  • Commercial analysis: economic modeling, risk analysis, uncertainties, sensitivities, risked economics.
  • Timelines and milestones prior to FDP submission.
  • Liaise with Subsurface, Drilling, Projects, Operations, and Finance teams for alignment.
  • Present each project/proposal for assurance and approval at each stage gate.
  • Establish efficient delivery processes and compliance with emissions estimation and measurement.
  • Prepare progress reports and identify study milestones.
  • Manage changes, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Optimize project strategic value, applying robust technical scrutiny.
  • Oversee key consultant contracts if required.
  • Professional Skills & Experiences:
    • Significant field development concept experience in Oil and Gas.
    • Strong technical understanding and safety awareness with knowledge of UK regulations.
    • Proven ability in team building, performance delivery, and industry standards.
    Educational Qualification & Other Requirements:
    • Engineering or project management degree preferred; offshore travel may be required.
