Role Overview: This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to launch their software engineering career in a supportive, fast-growing cloud consultancy. You will join a collaborative team where you will be coached by experienced engineers and progressively given more responsibility as you develop your skills. You will work across the full technology stack to design and build modern cloud-native applications on AWS, including digital platforms, portals and APIs for desktop and mobile users. A key part of the role will be learning how to build intelligent, AI‑enabled features, including agentic AI solutions that can reason, automate tasks, orchestrate workflows and interact with systems in a secure and scalable way.

Responsibilities:

  • Take part in the end‑to‑end software development lifecycle, from ideation and design through to build, testing, deployment and operation.
  • Contribute to the development of cloud‑native applications on AWS, learning how to design scalable, reliable and cost‑effective systems.
  • Assist in building AI‑enabled and agentic solutions, such as intelligent assistants, workflow agents and automation components, under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Learn how to integrate AI services, APIs and models responsibly, with attention to security, data privacy and governance.
  • Work across front‑end and back‑end components, gradually owning features as your confidence grows.
  • Use AI‑assisted development tools (for example for code generation, testing, refactoring and documentation) as part of your day‑to‑day engineering workflow.
  • Gain experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and automated testing, embedding quality and repeatability into delivery.
  • Learn and apply a security‑by‑design and privacy‑by‑design approach, particularly when working with AI and automation.

About the candidate:

  • A minimum 2.1 degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related subject.
  • An understanding of Agile software delivery principles (through university projects or placements).
  • Exposure to front‑end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, with awareness of frameworks like React or Angular.
  • Experience with at least one programming language, such as Java, .NET, Python or Ruby.
  • An interest in cloud computing, AI and automation, and how intelligent systems can enhance applications.
  • Basic knowledge of databases (SQL or NoSQL) and data concepts.
  • Awareness of UI/UX fundamentals and user‑centred design.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and web servers (e.g. Nginx or Apache) is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for collaborative problem‑solving.
